Transportation near BC Place
Located in downtown Vancouver, BC Place stadium is surrounded by a well-developed transportation system. Visitors can easily arrive to this great venue by several means. BC Place is situated right along Pacific Boulevard, near Plaza of Nations Marina and False Creek. Additionally, General Motors Place, another arena, is right across BC Place.
Rapid transit is the most popular method of transportation near BC Place. There are multiple train stations, which are served by all three lines of the Vancouver Skytrain system, courtesy of TransLink. Tourists will definitely enjoy a unique ride on fully automated trains running along elevated tracks throughout Vancouver. The three Skytrain lines are called Canada Line, Expo Line, and Millenium Line. The lines also provide service to nearby cities such as Burnaby, Richmond, New Westminster, and Surrey.
Canada Line runs between Waterfront Station and Richmond-Brighthouse Station. Additionally, this line has direct service to Vancouver International Airport. Canada Line operates in the north-south directions throughout Vancouver. Expo Line runs from Waterfront to King George in Surrey. The Millenium Line starts at Waterfront and then runs a loop through Burnaby and New Westminster. Both of these two lines run in the east-west directions throughout Vancouver.
The nearest Skytrain station is Stadium-Chinatown, which is located only a block away from BC Place. This station is served by the Empire Line and Millenium Line. If you are riding on the Canada Line, the closest stop is at the Vancouver City Centre Station, which is located about six blocks away from BC Place stadium.
Translink offers multiple bus services that stop near BC Place. For example, 015 route runs by the stadium along Cambie Street and Smithe Street. Meanwhile, the C23 bus stops near BC Place and GM Place at Abbott Avenue and Pacific Boulevard. Overall, there are dozens of bus routes operating in downtown Vancouver with plenty of stops in the vicinity of BC Place.
Driving to BC Place by car is the least popular choice of transportation because the parking space is limited. But if you still decide to drive there, you want to end up on Expo Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard. Also, drivers should be aware of the elevated roads and ramps near the stadium, such as Cambie Street, Smithe Street and George Street. It's easy to get confused and end up driving in loops on road bridges, while the stadium is right in front of you but is only accessible from ground level roads.
